I don't hate popcorn.
I just don't love it. I don't eat it often. I don't crave it. I don't want it when I'm watching a movie. Some people seem to take great offense to this. You know who you are.
The other night, I was eating some popcorn and thought to myself "I wish I had popped this yesterday."
Not because I was in the mood to eat it yesterday, but because day-old popcorn is the best!
Seriously! When I was a kid, my mom would pop a giant bowl's worth of popcorn. I think it was a Tupperware bowl. Big and weird pastely green. Yes, I'm dating myself. Tupperware and we didn't have microwave popcorn.
Anyway, there would always be a bunch left. The next day, the bowl would be sitting on the counter next to the garage door. We'd walk by and grab handfuls throughout the whole next day. And I thought it was yum!
I guess the point of this post is to give everyone a heads up. To get me to eat popcorn with you, you don't have to drown it in butter or bury it in seasonings. You don't have to throw in marshmallows or Hot Tamales. You just have to make it the day before.
It's called planning, people!
